My copy has quite a nice painting of a haunted house on it. I was obsessed with this book in primary school, and used to always grab it from the school library to read about Mr Fox's room full of bones and young women covered in blood. I was about 7, and it never had any effect on me later in life... er...
I strongly recommend "Curfew" by Lucy Boston. A fine Jamesian story indeed.
