Mindless violence, stunts and action scenes. Nothing wrong with that...but the action should be part of a movie, not the basis of the whole film.
The Bourne Identity meets the Transporter...and by a strange coincidence the lead character's name was James Bond.
Yeah, great.
Can we have the cynical wisecracking, sophisticated bloke back now? Cause this new version of 007 sux. Big time. The James Bond movie you watch when you're not watching a James Bond movie.

I am completely biased but Sean Connery = James Bond. There is no alternative. Anything else is just a film about guns with actors in it. Sean Connery = James Bond.

I liked George Lazenby in OHMSS.
I liked Tim Dalton in Licence to Kill.
I thought Pierce played the smooth and sophisticated movie Bond to perfection.
I liked Connery in all his Bond movies, but didn't like some of the movies.
Daniel Craig just isn't 007 for me. But all Quantam is an over the top action flick. The hero could have been named John Smith for all the difference it would have made.
And so many scenes were stolen from other movies:
Knife fight scene taken from Bourne Identity #1. Bloke left stranded in the desert scene from The Eiger Sanction. Car chase at the beginning a mix of Bourne Identity movies and the car chase through/along Nice from Ronin. The lift fight copied from another movie the name of which I can't remember. There certainly wasn't anything original going on here. Second fight scene at start of movie...nobody falls as far on such solid objects and doesn't break arms, legs spine, neck and smash skull. Once again my newest fave sexy female star had a lead role. Olga Kurylenko. She smoulders. Daniel Craig just isn't James Bond for me. Judy Dench in her role of M looked particularly bored. The bad guy wasn't up to the evil geniuses we've come to expect in a Bond movie either. One does expect certain things in a Bond movie. This latest installment in the series doesn't deliver any of them. Cheers: Jaq.

I think Craig is an excellent Bond. I do think QoS is not as good as Casino Royale but it's still better than 90% of the Brosnan and Moore movies, and 100% better than both the Dalton movies. OHMSS is utter class and probably the most faithful to the original material and all of the Connery's, with the exception of Diamonds Are Forever, are brilliant.
The director of QoS was awful though. The action sequences are terrible. Far too fast and close up. It's difficult to know what the heck is going on. The score is pretty poor too. However I cannot fault the cast.

I've wasted a few hours of my time with this dreck - can anyone please tell me what the threat was, please? A wimpy Frenchman stopping water in a localised area is not much of a threat - our council do it most summers. What next? A megalomaniac who cancels dustbin collections? For the record, I think Craig is fine, but the material he's been given is shite. Matthieu Almaric was great in 'The Adventures Of Adele Blanc-Sec', though.
