Have any of you heard of Killian H Gore? (what a name! Sounds like he should be in one of those heavy metal rock bands all dressed up and painted like Alice Cooper!) I came across this on eBay: Before Halloween - 13 short horror stories by Killian H. Gore
www.myspace.com/killianhgore
Descended from real life serial killer Ellen Mort, Killian H. Gore has horror running through his veins. In this, his first collection, he invites you to join him for thirteen weird and terrifying tales.
In the small fishing town of Port Vine, Scotland, Kade Maclean is about to meet his fate...by a rogue great white shark in The Shore Thing.
Creeping Jesus - A lost chapel embedded into the rocks of the Judean Mountains contains a very lifelike Jesus Christ statue. Very lifelife indeed.
In Born to be Food, Kyle Sawa observes a strange lake creature. But is there something much, much worse to fear out in the wilds of Idaho?
And what's with those unearthly cameras hovering about the woods of Tennessee in Video Projects?
Ghosts, serial killers, aliens and lake monsters, Killian H. Gore wants to chill, thrill, entertain and scare you.
For fans of the horror genre, those of us who like to walk on the darker side of life, Killian wants to stroll with you through a horror movie infused landscape in which your own imagination is called upon to ruminate the dreadful delights dredger up from the new twisted name in horror, Mr Gore!
"A real page turner" - Emma Pearson, The Pony Girls
"Frickin' Brilliant!" - Richard Dutton, Producer of "Red Route"I've never heard of him before, but it sounded good so I've gone and bought myself a copy - signed, direct from the author! I'm not impressed by him being descended from a real-life serial killer. Heck, I like my horror to be pure fiction, there's enough real life horror around - just watch the News at Ten! Anyway, I'll let you know what it's like when it arrives, but I just wondered if anyone else had heard of him ...? (just had a thought - it'll probably turn out he's on this board and I'll have offended him by my comment about his serial killing ancestor, so I'll end up with a nasty dedication in my book ... )

Let us know how you get on with it. I've not heard of Mr. Gore before, but it appears he's very grateful to you. Visit his MySpace page now, and you get this message: Killian H. Gore says thanks to Caroline for buying his book!!! It's on its way!

And now he has your address......... I don't know Caroline, I think anyone who trades on a member of their family being a serial killer needs a punch to the face. How would relatives of those killed feel at this shamless revelling in their demise? Not having a go - personally, I just don't think it's in good taste.

Oh God - now you guys are scaring me! If you don't hear from me for a while, notify the police won't you? I must admit, that declaration of his almost put me off buying the book - I totally agree with you Johnny, it's in poor taste. But of course, if Mr Gore is reading this, I'm only saying that to placate these folks on this forum - I think you're fantastic really! Hey, there must be a story idea here. Unsuspecting eBay buyer befriends seller, who turns out to be a serial killer who preys on unsuspecting eBay buyers ... Hmm, there's an idea ...

The thing is ..... well, maybe it's just me, but I'm not so sure I ever heard of a serial killer named 'Ellen Mort'?

well? what did you find out? or did he deliver the book in person, just so you wouldn't blab... Well, I was very tempted to pretend I wasn't here just to scare you all - and to see if anybody noticed I was missing, or even cared - but I couldn't bring myself to do it! So far, any attempts at googling only lead back to Killian's own MySpace page! I'm wondering if the book will reveal the truth, but that hasn't arrived yet as it's far too early. He does leave very prompt feedback though - and I do love an eBay seller who leaves prompt feedback for buyers. I get annoyed at those sellers who wait till you've left them feedback - that's not playing the game ...

Ah - I have some news for you on this. But I'm currently rushing around like a maniac trying to get various bits of work done so I haven't time to post any details. I'll try to do it at the weekend (mind you, I've been saying that to everyone recently! ) Basically, I don't think Killian is a bad egg at all, and what I've read so far of his book is certainly worth reading. Be back with more details when I can ...
