Just ordered this from dvd.co.uk, but it appears I'm out of luck, as I had an email today, with details of changes regarding my order.
Without posting too much of it here (sorry if I'm breaking the rules slightly with this, dem, but I believe you won't mind, as I believe you meant the rule to pertain to private discussions with other members & not something like this for illustrative purposes), it said this:
I'm afraid we've been trying to get hold of Mammoth Book Of Best Horror Comics (Catalog Number:1845296419) for some time now, but unfortunately we have now learnt that our suppliers have withdrawn this item from sale.
I'm very sorry that we will not be able to fulfil your order for this item but we are certain that we will not be able to get any more of it. We have now removed it from our site.
The reason for posting this, is I was wondering if anyone else has had trouble getting hold of it, on other sites, ie might it be out of print? I noticed Play said temporarily out of stock when I last looked.
Just to clarify, don't take this as knocking dvd.co.uk, I've found their service to be very good when I've used them (very prompt) & would recommend them. Just wondering if there's a problem with this book in general.

I've a contact at Robinson's who has been very kind to this board in the past year, so i'll write after i've posted this to see what the situation is regarding .... Horror Comics. I can't help thinking the macabre & special interest mammoth's are getting smaller and smaller print runs these days ... I'm glad you brought up about "breaking the rules", Dave, because the last thing i wanted to come out of that rant last month was people walking on eggshells and wondering if there's some stupid "rule" against posting this and that! We've hopefully limped on now, but my annoyance was purely down to a small minority endlessly promoting their own work, never showing an interest in any book/mag/ blog/ other than those they've written themselves. So, unless you edited The Mammoth Book Of Horror Comics and plan to give us hourly updates every time you get one of your mates to give it a glowing review ....

Thanks dem, that'll be very helpful. Waterstones list it, although dispatch is usually 2 - 3 weeks, so as it was due to be part of a christmas present for me (I order it, so I get something I want ;D ), there's no chance there, still I'm not 5, so I don't need it on the day (he says as he secretly cries 'wah, where's my book' ). Think I'll order Snuff by Eric Enck & Adam Huber instead, it seems suitably sick, from the extracts I've read online. Bushwick, if you're reading, this one sounds right up your street, try it on the bus P.S., dem, if you haven't already emailed Robinson, can you ask about availbility of the zombie comics book too please?. Much appreciated. Dave

Sounds like the literary equivalent of films like August Underground and Murder Set Pieces. Am curious to read it, but I dunno...will it have CHARM? Bet it's not as good as Eat Them Alive. I will probably still buy it though...

Just came across several copies of the Mammoth Book of Horror Comics on eBay when I was browsing around on there tonight. I was going to post a link to the cheapest one for you - but it doesn't work properly as it's too long. Sorry! Anyway, just go onto eBay and do a search for it if you're interested. I also came across someone selling the 30th Pan Book of Horror for £50 - if anyone's looking for it ... (but beware as the seller is bumping £8 on the price if you pay by PayPal - in fact, I think they could be kicked off eBay for doing that) Me? I've just treated myself to a little Poppy Z Brite chapbook - as a Christmas present to me!

Got an email from Sam at Robinson's and: I’ve checked with the sales team and the book is definitely in print and most certainly available – over 1800 copies in fact. So I don’t know what dvd.co are playing at. Anyway, Dave. Read my pm before you decide to order a copy ...

Thanks for that, Dem, Much appreciated. & Thanks to Caroline too. If it's the same one, I've seen that pan 30 on sale before at £50, seems like there's no takers. I am still missing 28 & 30, but I am not paying £50 for them, even if I could afford it. I will just have to keep the search up in true vault style ;D Vault: It's not just for christmas

One day, you might chance upon a good copy for a couple of quid in a charity shop!
