Have you noticed how after a while Singer seems to have given up bothering to find any 'new' material and settled for recycling the contents of his earlier collections like this one over yet more anthologies? The saving grace of Singer's collections for me is that, unlike virtually every one of his contemporary editors, for the most part he chose his stories from the post-war issues of Weird Tales which, the contributions of Bradbury, Matheson, Bloch and perhaps Joseph Payne Brennan apart, is not generally considered to be the unique magazine's golden age
