Pantechnicon 8 is out now! And I do believe there might be a few things of interest to Vaulters there. For example, I've provided a couple of MEGA-RARE interviews (which are on the site but not in the PDF) as follows: I had the pleasure of interviewing none other than Peter Duffell, BAFTA award winning director of "The House That Dripped Blood" (his only genre film - but he didn't get the BAFTA for that I'm afraid). He talked to me about THTDB when he appeared at the Fantastic Films Weekend a few months ago. Lovely man! You can read the interview here: Peter Duffell(BTW if anyone can tell me how to do those short url's where it just says CLICK HERE please let me know and I'll amend it - you'll need to cut and paste these long links as they're too long to work if you click on them)And I've also interviewed the elusive (and also lovely!) Dr Terror himself! Yes, Charles did me the honour of an interview too! You can see what he has to say here: Charles BlackPlus there are lots of other bits and pieces - stories, features, articles, etc. Troo can tell you more about what else is in Panties this time. Enjoy! (BTW I was due to interview Robert Feust director of the "Dr Phibes" films too at FFW, but sadly he had to pull out due to illness. He's in his mid 80s so I fear I may have missed my chance there )

Just read the interviews - good stuff Caroline! I love House that Dripped Blood (of course) but I was also very impressed with Duffell's commentary on the Anchor Bay DVD

Just downloading it. Pantechnicon #8 must be a bleedin' good issue if troo can offer these interviews as bonus material. Particularly pleased to see Charles getting the recognition he deserves, and while Peter Duffell might only have made one genre film, at least it was a beauty.
I put this in the help section too, but the easiest way to post a short url is to use this bit of code which you may like to copy and save as a text file.

Thanks folks - glad you like the interviews! Peter Duffell was only my second ever in person interview (Stephen Gallagher was the first) and I was terrified! But he's so sweet he soon put me at ease. I even had the pleasure of sitting with him and his wife when they showed the film at the festival. Most memorable! And of course Charles is memorable too! I seem to be working my way through the Vault for interviewees, don't I (Des in the last issue, of course)? I wonder who my next victim will be ... Also, thanks for sorting out my long url problem, Dem, and explaining how to do it. Hopefully, I'll be able to do it myself next time.

Well, the Right Honourable Lord Probert and Mr. Samuels will be at the BFS do in Nottingham and I know they'd make for good copy .....

Well done Caroline! Charles Black is not quite so elusive after all. Some surprising revelations there. Peter Duffell was good too. I recently rewatched The House That Dripped Blood and there's some very nice touches in that film. Robert Bloch's name in the credits appearing over the bookshelf of horror classics, and PDs over a copy of The Haunted Screen by Lotte Eisner (?). Denholm Elliott (being a writer) investigating said bookshelf (which includes 'Dracula'). Shame Mr Fuest was ill. I also recently saw And Soon The Darkness. Struck me as more of a thriller than a horror film per se, but unusual.

Well done Caroline! Charles Black is not quite so elusive after all. Some surprising revelations there. I'm going to have to kill everyone who reads that interview, aren't I!? I hope that doesn't include the interviewer! Funnily enough, I was thinking to myself: Should I ask Charles for a photo to go with the interview? Could I probe a little deeper and get even more out of him? Can I find out how old he really is? (I don't believe the 100 years stated on your MySpace page, Charles!). But in the end I thought I'd better hold back a little - he's still a mystery to me!

I actually possess a couple of photos of Charlie...... Ah but how much would you want for them? You know, in about 50 years' time, someone will probably be on a forum somewhere saying "Here's £150 for anyone who can locate a photo of Charles Black".

Forgive me for plugging Panties again, but here's another message from Troo: " For those who weren't aware, we had a hiccup with our mailing list a couple of months ago. It's now sorted (well, switched to a new provider) and will soon be used to distribute a weekly mini-Pantechnicon, featuring mini-goodies!
To sign up, visit www.pantechnicon.net and just pop your details in the box (bottom-right, just above the staff logon bit)." Note the bit about the forthcoming weekly mini-Pantechnicon which I've highlighted. Believe me, there will be some great things going on in Panties shortly, and you need to be signed up to the mailing list to receive them!
