While you're there, check out the rest of Steve Holland's blog (no, it's not all like the McBride page !), one of my favourite places in cyberspace! I often wind up reading articles about stuff i'm "not interested" in.

Caught me off guard there. I'd never willingly go to a site portraying females in such a manner.
Well, to be honest I seem to recall being bemused by McBride's work years ago. Its a slightly eerie combination of erotic cheekiness

-THE KING KONG ONE IS GREAT! his style is great, a lot better than some modern stuff! the content is slightly *hmmmm* but only a little more so than more modern comics like 'danger girl' and a lot less extreme than 'sin city'

I initially thought Ade had misspelt 'Bearalley' - apparently not!! I wonder if Steve Holland will cover (or un-cover) the strips that the late, great Don Lawrence did for Mayfair way back when, considering that he's been so involved in the English language translations of 'Storm' and 'Trigan Empire'.

The wonder of the vault. The Trigan is one of my all time favourites. I trudged through Look and Learn No idea that the illustrator had done Mayfair.

I agree with Dem's comment - Steve Holland's blog is superb. A great run of vintage 1970's science fiction covers recently was great to see. He covers the type of stuff that the Vault should be representative of - albeit we are more horror oriented. I think archiving this stuff for posterity is paramount ( as we are the generation to do it) , whilst having a laugh too dontcha' think?!

I agree but then again Dem as I understand it has a special room for people who like sf and I believe there is no key for it.
I keep thinking it should be about priorities and emphases and that should be reflected in perhaps a kind of pyramid structure, Anyway, if allowed I have the entire Dumarest selection to irritate people with.
There's a typical example of Vault spirit. Tubb, who was on the point of revealing exactly where Earth was and about to allow Dumarest to get back there, lost his supportive editor to some literary criminal who wanted to market to a female audience. Poor Dumarest, a man's man with fairly simple but decent ethics, was relegated to the dustbin

I really like the fact you and Ben are here flying the sf flag! I used to cause mischief about the subject especially when I posted some odd Nel sf book nobody could care less about -lol . I believe I posted The Furies first at the old joint too. Glad you guys are here...

OK, so I know you meant the wording underneath it too, but there you go - what a dynamic start! Told you it wasn't beyond repair. >>
Yeah sorry that's what I meant!
Right. It's no good, have to go and read something now. I'm getting withdrawal symptoms or something. >>
That's the ticket...
