As you'll see from my latest clumsy effort, I can't work out how to make the tags work when I post an entry.
Can anyone help???

Sorry, I mean I only get the symbols - and in my posts nothing at all, as you see.

Are you highlighting the text which you want to type in bold or whatever, Peter? If you type it, highlight it, then press the B button, it should come out in bold. Or is that not what you mean? I might be getting confused.

Peter, go back to your post on the Uncle Montague's Tales of Terror thread. I've put the story titles in bold and coloured them. Press on the 'modify' button between 'quote' and 'delete' and you'll see the source code which is just as easy to add by hand (just remember that 'colour' is spelt the American way - 'color'). Thanks again folks, your advice seems to work - it doesn't show before I post, though, which is what was throwing me. Don't know how that smiley thing got there - honest.
