I guess this is aimed at Dem primarily, but also for others to see what they think too. I find if I've been away from this forum for more than a day (sometimes even more than a few hours if you've all been particularly active!), then the "20 latest posts" link doesn't always contain ALL the new posts since my last visit, and I tend to miss some posts. Do others suffer from this?
From my experience with another Proboards board, I think it's possible to change it to "last 30 posts". Might this be better? Just a thought anyway ...

I've changed it to last 30 posts and we'll see how we get along with that. Pro's: you get to see the last 30 posts instead of last 20. Cons: it will load that bit slower and i'm not sure just how many of the images will show up if we've posted tons of them that day. Any problems, we can always go back to last '20'. I don't know if i can do about your query, mr. monger, but i'll look into it. Personally, i'd like a button that had her out of the Corrs perform a can-can on my bookcase every time I remembered my password, but I think we may have to wait a little longer while the technology catches up.

Thanks Dem. I think that's better, but as you say, if it causes problems when there are loads of images on, then it can always be changed back. As for Des' suggestion of a button to show all unread posts since last visit, that's the way the BFS board works and it is better than "last X posts". But I don't think Proboards is set up to do that - it depends on who is providing the forum. At least this way we HAVE to visit regularly or we might miss something!

I'm visiting every day at the moment and there is still more than 20 posts Most of the other boards I post on do have the 'posts since your last visit' option which is great - the only one that uses the same host as this manages with the last 10 posts, which is fine. It is making me 'explore' the forum though....

...Most of the other boards I post on do have the 'posts since your last visit' option which is great - the only one that uses the same host as this manages with the last 10 posts, which is fine. It is making me 'explore' the forum though.... Earlier today someone mentioned a story which they said was filmed as The Devil Doll. Of course I didn't reply immediately, so I lost the post, can't even find it by looking up the site's right-hand column which shows all today's posts highlighted. (Correction - shows all sections with a highlighted link where there's been a post today.) I was looking for it because I knew The Devil Doll was based on A Merritt's Burn Witch, Burn! - which confusingly is also the alternative title of Night of the Eagle. Where was I? Oh, yeah. I eventually Googled The Devil Doll and came up with both the 1936 version... and a 1964 film I didn't know existed, based on a story by Frederick E Smith... who I'd seen mentioned today. No moral to this story. Just the sobering thought that even a "show all posts since your last visit" button wouldn't have helped in this case.
