Just wondering if anyone from the Vault a member of the Ghost Story Society?

Yeah, All Hallows, still going strong after twenty years which is an incredible achievement. I was a member pretty early on, and the Bride contributed artwork to a few issues of their then-monthly GSS newsletter when it was based in England. It was founded by small press legends Ro Pardoe, Mark Valentine, Jeff Dempsey, and Roger Dobson. Evidently, they once did something unspeakable to Colin Langeveld, as this is how he depicts them in the Dec. 1989 newsletter. The Ghost Story Society founders. L-R. Roger, Ro, Mark, Jeff. Illustration:Colin Langeveld The GSS has long since been adopted by Ash Tree Press in Canada I believe? The Ghost Story Society This might give you some idea of what the early issues of All Hallows and the 'Specials' were like, though they certainly didn't run to 300 pages in those days. The reason I ask is because I don't think All Hallows, the Society's magazine has appeared this year (there are normally 3 issues). It's all gone mysteriously quiet and I wondered if anyone had heard anything.

Chris and Barbara Roden, who run Ash Tree and edit All Hallows, have had a busy year including some illnesses. The journal is still in production though. Issue 44 is due before the end of the year, I believe. I certainly hope the journal returns to its regular schedule soon (it's been sporadic for about two years now) but from what I understand it's nowhere near dead. There's a Yahoo Group to join if you'd like to rub elbows regularly with its editors and its readers (including Ellen Datlow, Reggie Oliver, Steve Tem, Stefan Dziemianowicz, etc.) groups.yahoo.com/group/All_Hallows

Been a member for some years. Some interesting 'discussions' in there and it can get heated.
But the Rodens are good hosts and keen to let debate flow.
You should join just to read Jessica Salmonson's posts (that are more interesting than her books).
And Ellen D's opinion of the 'great' (in his opinion) Stephen Jones, is classic.

Jessica Salmonson..... had been in touch with her for a while for the Pan Horror thing - but her emails decended into an undecipherable techno babble about how and why my website (the pan horror one) wasn't translating to her and that she could fix it but she was very busy with a million things on....
I've not emailed her since - I'm sure she's not upset...

I wonder if it's just that old professional rivalry raising it's head, then. I do know a lot of men who have problems with women who are successful if they work in the same field...which is daft.
And for me, most folk in life are decent...just now and again, opinions will differ.
I'd hate it if everyone like killing crustacean novels...where would be the book selling challenge?
