Thanks, Franklin. Michael Sissons compiled one of my favourite 'sixties anthologies, In The Dead Of Night, and you can tell he was well cut out for the job. Both books are so much more imaginative than Herbert Van Thal's work for Panther from the same time. They're polar opposites in style and intent but Matheson's horrific The Children Of Noah and Conrad 'Joan's Dad' Aiken's Silent Snow, Secret Snow (one of Christopher Fowler's favourites I seem to recall) are particularly good.
