Lin and I just watched the B grade horror movie Arachnid. Truly awful. Make sure you don't miss it. Pulp horror extrodnaire. And if you get bored you can always just sit back and watch the boobs bouncing around inside the low cut singlet tops. Alien spacecraft crashes on tropical island. Strange mutations quickly follow. A group of medical explorers go hence, to investigate the mysterious deaths that are taking place on the island. The intrepid ex military guys. The sexy female lead star. The secondary spiderbait...I mean supporting actors...guns, machetes, webs, mandibles, what more could you want? There's worse ways to spend an hour and a half.

I like this one as well. Directed by Jack Sholder, who not only directed the awesome film, THE HIDDEN, but one of the greatest trailer editors of all time.
Check out Sam Firstenberg's flick SPIDERS 2-BREEDING GROUND for more multi-legged fun. With a legacy like this and American Ninja, Firstenberg is bound for infamy. My kind of guy.

We watched Blood Monkey last week. Same as Archanid, but with apes instead.
And I noticed a new Lance Hendriksen film...In the Spider's Web at the vid shop. Another B grade shocker. The plot reads exactly the same as Blood Monkey.

Along comes Colin, as usual butting in on a perfectly intelligent and well thought out thread with his usual brand of barely relevant drivel. Hi All!
Just wanted to post a remark about the lovely Laura Aikman who is in 'Blood Monkey' who I spotted and instantly developed a ridiculous middle aged man crush on when I saw her first in a thing my kids watch called 'The Mysti Show', then in the recent (and I have to say pretty average) Ade Edmondson sitcom 'Teenage Kicks' - so, admittedly as a bet with my kids that it could be done, I wrote an extremely polite letter to her via her Agent, and received a lovely signed photo. The last time I wrote to a celeb for a signed photo was Tom Baker in 1975......
Anyhow - said signed photo is now on the wall at work - I have ignored all the cries of 'you sad middle aged loser' (and that's just from the kids) and take great pride in it.
Back to 'Blood Monkey' then...........
What the hell...........?

Thanks - Craig - It would be a pleasure - I'll see what I can do. Right then, let me just open my 'celebrity stalkings' folder (volume 24) and it should be in there somewhere...........
She is lovely though - and a promising actress too. I'd love to know how she came to be in Blood Monkey!

I'd love to know how she came to be in Blood Monkey I can help there. Start a ???space page fan club, spend endless hours collecting obscure photos and news clippings, contact agent mercilessly and eventually someone will emerge from the woodwork with all the details and an even raunchier photograph

There is a 'Laura Aikman Appreciation Society' on facebook - or rather there was when I last looked. Somehow I felt I couldn't join.....
She was born on Christmas Eve 1985 you know - therefore at the time she was being born I was busy wandering around in a big coat, feeling sorry for myself and listening to Microdisney and The Smiths!

Someone got in there first....never mind.
I lose the plot when i start to talk about Jenny Agitur, Joan Bakewell, Jane Fonda...in fact the list is endless and mostly involves scantily clad females. I think its an age thing or at least that's my excuse
