Greetings All
I'm trying to place a horror movie I saw many many years ago - in fact it was around Easter time in 1982. The film was a U.S. made for TV portmanteau job, so must have been from the late 1970s.
I dont remember any of the tales except for the first one which was very creepy -
Basically it was about a young boy who is neglected by his Mum and dies in an accident (drowning?) - Mum is filled with regret and uses black magic or similar to bring the boy back. Boy returns but is 'different' - moody, aggresive etc - culminates in boy (called Bobby or Tommy or similar - let's say Bobby for the sake of argument) repeating the words 'Bobby didn't wanna come back........' )and then cue change of face and voice to horrible demon) 'so he sent ME instead....!'
Like I said I don't remember any of the other stories from the film, which suggests perhaps they weren't all that good! Anyhow if anyone remembers this film and what it was called - please let me know!
Thanks
Colin

Hi Colin
That's Dan Curtis' TV movie 'Dead of Night' made in 1977. Three stories with no framework - 'Second Chance' with Ed Begley, 'No Such Thing as a Vampire' with Patrick Macnee and the final one you mention - 'Bobby'. First two are Richard Matheson stories. Not sure about the third, which was remade starring Lysette Anthony in Curtis' Trilogy of Terror II some years later
All the best

Thanks John - is there no end to the mine of genius to be found on this site. Now you mention it I do vaguely remember the Patrick McNee story too. And I most likely watched it thinking it was going to be the old Ealing 'Dead Of Night'
Many many thanks
Colin

Thanks Mark - excellent clip! Still pretty scary too, but it really freaked me when I first saw it - as we have said on here before, in the days before VCRs etc a scary moment couldn't be replayed and it lived on in your imagination!

Isn't that clip the 1996 Trilogy of Terror 2, and not the 77 version?
