Let's just say I'm extremely fecking chuffed to have interviewed her. She's the nicest woman on the planet - and boy - give it a few more days, do I have the mother of all surprises for you..... www.allthingshorror.co.uk/#/marydanby/4530741590

Really enjoyed that! Mary comes over as very friendly and genuinely pleased, if slightly amused, that the books are still not only remembered with great fondness but read to this day. And she makes her part in it all seem so random! MD is either a very modest person or a very fortunate one because that stable of authors she built up was tops! I just wish Fontana had given her a Chinese burn or something until she agreed to edit at least another volume of Frighteners. Did she mention if there were ever any plans for a collection of her own horror stories?

I feel the plot of a story coming on..............
'The Beak Of Terror'
Wherein said beak comes alive at the witching hour and terrorizes it's proud new owner...........
What an incredible souvenir, and a great interview too.
What will be next I wonder? The Mummy bandages from Pan 9? The unconvincing insects from Pan 10?
Superb stuff
Colin
