Next Saturday (21st June) is the first Welsh Alt-Fiction event at the University of Ponypridd. Talks from Tim Lebbon, Steven Volk, Jasper Fforde etc.
I'll be there. Anyone else from this esteemed board going?

You globe-trotting, jet-setting author, you! Wales is a bit far out for me. (And just who is this board esteemed by?)
JLP, if I'm not being too forward (shuffles feet), I've been meaning to ask.... now that Faculty is an award winning success, Coffin Nails is sure to be, you're a shoo-in for any Horror Antho etc.... as Peter Cushing has become known as The Cush as Robin Askwith has become known as The Ask as William Shatner has become known as The Shat
can we call John Llewellyn Probert The Probe? Can we? Please?

I remember Steve Upham mentioning this earlier this year, but I won't be able to go as its too far down. Getting from North to South Wales is a bugger.
Oh, and I'm skint.

Mr Marsh I am touched but I think Lord P probably has the edge. I'll report back, possibly even with the results of a smidgeon of filming I may be involved with while I'm there........

Yes! In the wilds of Treforest. I didn't make it to much of the morning stuff as we were out shooting a little bit of film of me advertising Coffin Nails, but the lunchtime was fun (I got interviewed for BBC radio, rambled on for ages, and the only name I think I mentioned in terms of inspiration was Jess Franco, which should raise the odd eyebrow if that makes it to the final cut). Otherwise it was nice to meet up with some old friends - Tim Lebbon, Stephen Volk, Gary Greenwood, Steve Upham, Chris Teague, Steve Lockley, Paul Lewis et al, & I'll definitely be going again next year as it's so close to home.
I hope some of the vault gang manage to come next year - there's a splendidly Campbellian pub in the town that does excellent sausage and chips for a couple of quid. And they let us film in there so they deserve the patronage.

Lord P - any chance of letting us know about broadcast times and dates etc. I'd love to see you on the telly, or hear your dulcet tones on the radio so that I could turn to the Mrs and say - I met him - in a pub.

Any man that takes the time to supportively recommend the sausage and chips at the pub has rare style
