Annoncement, hee hee. (Caroline and Trudi especially take note!) Release date for issue one is Thursday 12th June. Front and back covers will look something like this, kind of. Inside covers are blurbs and drawings. The drawings look much tidier in A5, and possibly there will be some colour!

Super, Coral. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh! ;D So, you did get Rog to do some drawings then ...

Yeah, they get my vote too - 'specially the graveyard scene.

So, you did get Rog to do some drawings then ... As I was saying before I accidentally deleted this post last night - I still bear the scars, Caroline. There wasn't time to do new drawings, and I hadn't seen the magazine; but Coral accepted some drawings of girls that I'd done over recent years. I decided not to send the one of the captured girl soldier in chains. Pity you don't have room for that program, Coral. Have you thought of getting a cheap Flash Drive? They sell half-Gig ones in Tesco's for about £15. They plug into a USB socket and often have holes drilled in them, so you can wear them around your neck, whatever. Handy things. Of course, your computer might not have a USB socket... Well, I texturized the new version of the cover. You can get a slightly larger version by clicking on it, which takes you to the Flickr page, where you can use the 'All sizes' button above it. I can tint it girlie pink if you decide to go for colour. Actually, I like these drawings because they remind me of the fanzines I used to get way back. And I miss those. Knowing the abilities of some of the contributors to TTMC, I have high hopes for it. You have a thing about toadstools, I seem to remember. The graveyard sketch would make an excellent tie in to a story, if one was available. You seem to have quite a lot of these 'demented genius serial killer' sketches in your blog. Hopefully we'll see more. Judging by the dates on this blog, you've been working quietly at it for quite a while. Slightly surprised at your 'deadly serious' comment on one of the Second Black Book Stories. But it's always interesting how different people see things: The Thinking Man's Crumpet

Does that answer my question? Yep, I reckon it probably does answer your question, Redbrain. If he sent a drawing like that I think he'd have had a whole herd of angry women chasing him with scissors and tight rubber bands!

I still have hopes of getting a drawing of a woman in chains into TTMC - my new ambition. We'll have to wait to see if Coral wants the sketches posted here or only in the magazine.

That's marvellous mr Rog, thank you doesn't even BEGIN to say it! I don't mind if you put up the drawings here, I will say that none of the stories/poems have a particular illustration attached to them, they're just scattered about here and there mostly, but they do tend to enhance the atmoshphere as a whole. Women in chains, eh, you'll get me lynched. I suppose a tasteful bondage scene would be ok though, what do the rest of you think?

..a tasteful bondage scene would be ok though, what do the rest of you think? Tasteful bondage? Is there such a thing? (or maybe I'm just an old prude?)

I wonder what the drawings are like. I wonder if I should keep people in suspenders here. I'm a sadistic sod, really. And the whole thing is odd if you consider that I seem to have become an honorary female for the purposes of this magazine. But I have to repeat, after seeing the work of some of these writers, I am genuinely looking forward to seeing the magazine. Women in chains, eh, you'll get me lynched. I suppose a tasteful bondage scene would be ok though... Hah! Now you all read that! (or maybe I'm just an old prude?) CENSORED

One of the less affectionate ladies in my life, I drew her a year or so back, but only got around to finishing the drawing properly for The Thinking Man's Crumpet There are no end of images to post to this thread. No need to bump it at the moment, so here is the lady who most influenced my own writing: Shirley Jackson

I am EVER so sorry, Caroline, I had a disaster! I had them all laid out on Weds evening, ready to staple and pop into their little jiffy bags on Thursday, but guess what I did? I broke the stapler, arrrrrgggghhhh. I went into the business centre for a new one, as it's a special one that can cope with fifty sheets of paper, and they didn't have one in stock, so they ordered it to be in on Friday morning. So I trotted in on Friday, only to be told it wouldn't arrive until Monday morning!!! Extra aarrrrrggggghhhh. Provided it is there tomorrow morning, I will be able to post it out. I'll send it first class so you should get it by Weds at the latest. Just when I had reached the end and thought nothing else could go wrong
