Woo hoo! Thanks Caroline.
Knowing you collect autographs, er, would you like it signed?
I've set myself up for some public humiliation there, haven't I? Don't feel obliged to say yes, in order to spare my feelings. Having me scribble on it would probably devalue it!

Don't feel obliged to say yes, in order to spare my feelings. Having me scribble on it would probably devalue it! You must be psychic! Strangely enough, I was on my way to the local Co-op after buying this book when I thought to myself "What a shame I didn't think to ask him to sign it for me when I sent off the PayPal thingy". I'd be delighted to add you to my collection of signed horror books/mags, Charles. Thank you very much! (and then Des wouldn't be the only person on this board whose autograph I have) ;D

Charles - My copy arrived this morning. Thank you kindly, sir! Looks great, I'm glad to see you've 'made the grave' on the cover (nice idea, Rog). Once again I feel very proud to be involved with Mortbury Press & The Black Book of Horror series, alongside all the other contributors. I say The Black Book of Horror series - lovely to see this; "Also in this series: The Black Book of Horror The Third Black Book of Horror (forthcoming)"
All the best with this and all other Black Books to come, Charles & thanks again for Blackening my name!

The Second Black Book of Horror has arrived through my doorflap! Wow! What a truly lovely book.
Great to see the editor's by-line on the actual book's front cover's tombstone! A feature which is not on the website version of this image!
Thanks, Percy! des

And my specially signed and inscribed copy arrived today - wonderful! I'm going to enjoy that. Many thanks Charles. I decided I didn't like the inscription on the first one I did. Then I spelt my name wrong on the second...

Looks great, I'm glad to see you've 'made the grave' on the cover (nice idea, Rog). With the problems Charles had getting that cover through Lightning Source it's a wonder he's not really under that headstone. But yes, I'm glad your name is on the cover, Charles. And I suspect that the talented Paul Mudie had to put it through Photoshop again, as my web-friendly version probably wouldn't have been suitable for printing. And my specially signed and inscribed copy arrived today - wonderful! I'm going to enjoy that. Many thanks Charles. I decided I didn't like the inscription on the first one I did. Then I spelt my name wrong on the second... Oh, alright, I'll have one of the copies with your name misspelled. Honestly, I mess up Christmas cards the same way. Only you have to add: "This really is my signature" and write your name again so people will believe it.

And my specially signed and inscribed copy arrived today - wonderful! I'm going to enjoy that. Many thanks Charles. I decided I didn't like the inscription on the first one I did. Then I spelt my name wrong on the second... You mean the one I've got is your THIRD attempt ...? Funnily enough, that inscription is very similar to one I had from Peter Haining in a book a few years ago. As a result, I've juggled some books on my shelves and sat you next to Peter Haining, Charles. I hope that's alright for you!
