I Love Vault exclusives, me, even moreso when they're scoops like this! Well done, Mr. Herbert Van Terror and all the contributors!
Lovely cover, too!

I love that cover, Charles, though I do think you should put your name on it somewhere as editor. Such modesty!
I'm pleased to see you have an Eddy C. Bertin story in it. Excellent.
Plus Dave Sutton's Amygdala. I already know this story. If there had been a fourth issue of Beyond years ago this would have been in it. A brilliant, very dark story.
I have already copied the cover onto my own website and will start to plug it where I can, together with a link to the Mortbury Press site.
Best wishes David

That's a superb cover. Paul Mudie does it again. And it's a strong collection, with at least a few future classics in it, I think.
Yes, it bothers me, too, that Charles doesn't have his name on the cover and doesn't have a story inside, either.

Fantastic cover... more excellent Mudie artwork. Really looking forward to this.
I'm also surprised that Charles doesn't have a story in it.

Looks like a good'un. Paul M has done you proud again, Charles. Nice to see the series already has a very defined 'look'. Cool contents page too!
Am I right in saying you went for the shorter volume option in the end?

Fantastique! Brilliant cover - and I just love those story titles. (Wipes up drool) Agreed - how can it be a Black Book Of Horror without ...erm...Black in it?

Thanks everybody.
Yep, it's a fantastic cover. Paul's very talented, I'm very lucky to have him involved.
Also very pleased that Eddy agreed to contribute a story, you'll probably know I'm a fan of his work.
When David offered me Amygdala, I wasn't planning on including reprints, but when I read it, I had to include.
Sean - Yes, this one is 200 pages. Your story will be in the 3rd, which will probably be the same sort of length, and out later this year. Once I've finished this one off, I'll need a bit of a break before starting #3, though!
My name's on the back cover which is enough really. I don't think my name means anything to the horror reader, and I wouldn't want to obscure Paul's art.

What a cover!
And a double entendre of whether he is scaring the reader or vice versa! des

My name's on the back cover which is enough really. I don't think my name means anything to the horror reader, and I wouldn't want to obscure Paul's art. Commendable. But I would have thought there was room for a name-check at the foot of the picture - or use slightly smaller text for the title and make it "Charles Black's Second Black Book of Horror". And had you thought of reprinting Midnight Snack from FC 1 - which was a while back now - or that chocolate story, which I think was in an ezine? A lot of us liked those. They're both very short, only a page or so, and wouldn't take much time to add. I think taking a break after BB3 is a good idea. A lot of work goes into these publications.

Something about delusions of grandeur springs to mind! That's very kind of you to say, Rog. But 13 stories are all you're getting this time! I've pretty much got all the stories for #3, but I'm going to have a bit of a break before I start editing them, as well as afterwards.

Something about delusions of grandeur springs to mind! I wonder what sort of noise there'd be if your head collided with Steve's? That would be a good idea, too.
