Bloody brilliant!!!
I totally recommend this excellent fanzine - it's well worth ordering all the back issues as they are all superb!

Darkside magazine has relaunched. The cover has a blatant Fangoria rip off film strip down the side. Its still pretty poor and although its going to be bi-monthly I'll give two years at the most. I thought the relaunched Darkside was actually really good. Some great reviews, interviews and diverse horror coverage. And let's not forget that Fangoria stole the "film strip" cover image from 60's/70's horror film magazine Castle of frankenstein.

I own every issue of HOH and it really is my favourite monster movie mag of all time. It was never intended as a kids comic; it was definately an adult magazine but of course, kids love horror movies and comic strips so I guess that's where it gained a lot of its readership. I started collecting it towards the end of it's first run so I must have only been 9 or 10 years old!!! Luckily my parents were open-minded enough to not discourage my obsession and even bought me one or two issues directly, as did my older sister!

Don't know if any of you guys have heard of a nostalgic monster movie magazine called MAD SCIENTIST? It tends to focus on older horror and giant monster movies from all decades prior to the 80's. Also a bit of sci-fi too! The latest issue (19) has articles on House On Haunted Hill, a tribute to Forrest J Ackerman, EC Comics Tales From the Crypt and Space:1999 amongst others. You can check it out here and order a copy from : www.geocities.com/madscie/madscientist.htmlI wanted to plug it a little as I wrote the article on SPACE:1999 and would love people to be able to read it! I may also contribute an article for the next issue and was hoping to again focus on something British, either an old British horror movie or even an article on UK monster movie magazines. What do you guys think?

I have recently got hold of some back issues of WORLD OF HORROR and must say it seemed to get better and better as it went on. Such a shame it finished with issue 9.
Towards the end I would even say it was moving towards a more CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN vibe, with fanzine reviews, up-to-date horror news, reviews of new horror movies and better, more intelligent articles and interviews.
