I thought THE DOOR was the strongest story. I loved the notion of what was OUTSIDE that room, beyond the walls, the window.
Nothing?
Or haunted trees? Stuffed animals on hillocks of black grass? A pond with glowing green skeletons at the bottom?
Probably everything you ever saw on a PAN BOOK OF HORROR cover. Imagine that: that's where they took all the photos!
I'm rambling.( Better here, than THERE)

THE CASE OF THE BLOODY IRIS is, apparently, not porn. But I did watch it with that in mind.
It's all gravy. Or is that...GRAVE-y? (grave full to the brim with thick black gravy. Ghouls knelt around, supping with hands, ladels, lips, sporks.)

I was normal until that proffessor of Mentalism used reverse psychiatry on me, reverting me back to a primal state before the Big Bang was even a mote in the eye of Infinity. I wrote a letter to the Council complaining about this new mental state -or unstate, if you will. But naught came of it. Well, the council DID change all the bulbs in my street to a rather odd bluey green. I can't help but feel some error of understanding crept in. Also, the removal of refuse has not been satisfactory, since the letter, and general standards of cleanliness have dropped to the point that gigantic cobwebs swoop down from rooftops to the litter strewn street below, all lit an odd bluey green.

Yes, yes. It was. You were wearing the lobster shoes and the cloak with the fairy lights.

Surely that is meat and not plastic?
Unless it is one of those fake plastic things you see in butcher shops. But what kind of butcher would entice shoppers with such a thing?

Yes! It is I. The lost prince of Albion, of long ago. Defender of magic, protector of virgins...and eater of sausages*.
I again lurch forth from glittery alcoves, parting the moulden flaps of some accursed...curtain thing.
AGAIN I crawl from my crumbling dimension to speak of many cloak-ed things. Such as veins, stinky eyes, eggs laid in flesh and...I forget the last one.
Something to do with hairy bones, I think.
*Don't listen to the rumours.

Hello you bad, bad ghouls. It's that midnight stroke time again. So unlock all your sideboard cabinets and pretend they are gay coffins for children or midgets...or just bits of average sized people...and turn off your lava lamps! Prepare to scream so loud that they'll even hear it in space! Yes, space. SP? You vagabond of the cemetery, you! I've seen you charging through cosmic mists atop the crippling tor tops! Like the devil hisself was stitched to you. Perhaps you were towing him, as a favor. I don't know. Mayhap you were merely looking for a lost notebook of sick spells that you had transcribed from the whispers you heard coming up from certain graves!? I have your number, dust mage! What? I had imagined that fluffy demon thing? Perhaps. Or perhaps...not?* *it's the former.

One site suggests that BLACK XMAS was inspired by a series of real killings in Montreal. I wonder if this is them... www.crimezzz.net/serialkillers/B/BODEN_wayne_clifford.phpYep. Deffo. The killer dated some of the victims under the name "Bill", but that wasn't his real name. The killer in BLACK XMAS was obviously using the name Billy. If you google BODEN Wayne Clifford and Black Christmas it turns up nothing though.

I had the same version with the wardrobe. Lost it! That's not a full scan, is it? I'm sure there's more to that fluffy thing on the floor.

I have his second ghost omnibus. I suppose you'd want me to read all the stories and give a little summary?
