How about an anthology of miscellaneous? You know, those stories that don't fit in any catagory.

I'm pretty sure I've actually seen that exact same story before, complete with mobile phone, written by an aspiring writer. I said that when I read it. I'm certain I've read that story before, and not that long ago.

The book is set out in three sections. People who inspired James, were his contemporaries and those that followed his influence.
Le Fanu was from the first section.

I once woke up and saw John Thaw's face floating in my bedroom. It was green, and quickly vanished.
Later I found out that Ian Brady saw the green face of an old man, urging him to kill.
As documented in FROM HELL.
Inspector MORSE? Mors? death?
No, nothing is normal in my life.
John Thaw wasn't dead at the time I saw the face.
Hypnogogia!

I watched DEMENTIA 13. Is it me, or did this surruptisously inspire FRIDAY THE 13TH?

The Leather Funnel really disturbed me. Maybe it was just that particular kind of torture.

I didn't burn it down. Arnold Ridley did it!
Or was it Askey?

Not the first odd thing to happen to me. A while ago, I had a dream I was sat in my kitchen and heard/felt a rumbling noise. I went outside and saw a massive tidal wave towering over the city. The next night, just as I was nodding off, was the night of the recent earthquake. It's epicentre just a few miles away from me. And I felt it. It woke me up. A horrible rumbling beneath. I thought" Tidal wave!" and expected water to come crashing through my house any second. Luckily I had a clean pair of pants handy. I also had a dream about a large fire near my home, on a certain road. The next day a large B&Q burnt down on that road. Nobody has ever been able to establish why it burnt down. The dream suggested it was my fault.

You want to hear something weird? I have become somewhat obsessed with the film THE GHOST TRAIN. I have been watching it off and on for years and especially since I bought the DVD. It was written by -yes you already know- Arnold Ridley of Dad's Army fame. A few weeks ago I was watching it every night. Sometimes nodding off to it at bedtime. I began to recall a few Dad's Army episodes that were similar to the film's plot. One involved the troop guarding a deserted lighthouse and a more similar one had them trapped on the pier end. I wondered if these episodes had been written as a kind of homage to Ridley's film. One night, watching the film again, I noticed a poster in the waitng room where the characters spend most of the film. It was a poster for Weston Super Mare. First time I'd noticed it. I fell asleep watching it and woke up in the morning and turned the news on. That was the day the pier in Weston Super Mare burned down! Coincidence? Or am I insane? I live nowhere near Weston Super Mare, btw. Just in case you think I like to start setting fires.

Who? Albie? Oh, yes. Albie. That's me. I'm Albie.
You won't believe what's happened in my street now. Halloween decorations, already! I assume that's what those things are propped up in windows and alleyways. At least they've spent some money. They look realistic enough. Although some of them don't seem fit for kids. I would wonder if they were there to deter trick or treaters, rather than welcome them.
