"When a young woman’s boyfriend disappears, she heads out to search for him―straight into the path of a psychotic killer." Read this one over the summer during a Laymon binge and I don't think this one is that memorable. I'd just finished Endless Night which I felt did everything a lot better and this feels like total Laymon autopilot. Briefly wins some serious audacity points for how it appears to wrap up a plot thread halfway through, but then reneges on that in a way that's at least suitably Laymon-esque. Still, it's very nasty, but it's also a bit forgettable.
