This is a rarity--a theme anthology put out by a major publisher! (Cemetery Dance did the first run but then Scribner published it). Of course, it had King's name on it so they knew they could shift units (although I wonder whether the theme helped or hindered with the Hudson News airport paperback market).
This seems like a decent, eclectic selection, although I've only read a few--the Matheson story is familiar at this point although you couldn't do an antho on this theme and
not include it. Horror of the Heights is good pulpy fun. The Dan Simmons piece didn't do anything for me when I read it years ago. Other than that the only other one I've read is "Cargo," which is okay and not the story I'd have opened the book with.
Am sure I read the Bradbury during my youthful Bradbury binge phase but can't say it left an impression as I don't remember a thing.
