Brian Lumley - Vampire World 2: The Last Aerie (Necroscope 7) (Roc/UK, 1993, posted edition Tor Books, 1994, 758 pages) Bob Eggleton Part 2 of the Vampire World trilogy. This is the thickest novel Lumley wrote and only the middle of the story. It is the usual kitchen sink approach of the writer, fantasy, horror, spies and sf. The Tor edition features one of the more absurd blurbs with its "rivals Anne Rice".

The Tor edition features one of the more absurd blurbs with its "rivals Anne Rice". That's pretty funny. I haven't read much Rice, but those two seem rather far apart in their style and themes.
