The line-up is pretty impressive, insofar it is interesting that (most of) the stories never went beyond this. There a lot of illustrations, many by comic artists, made possible by the trade-format. If you don't mind the pretentiousness at times - 'The Cow is this chthonic spirit's long fantasy. Four billion years of raw food eaten alive has made the animal mind we have inherited a wild, hungry happiness. Life feeds voraciously on the silences of the dead', as A. A. Attanasio writes in his introduction - this is a nice slice of 90s gothicism.
