Colin Wilson - The Mind Parasites (Arkham House, 1967, Hardcover, this edition Panther Books, 1969, 188 pages)
As the legend is, Wilson trashed Lovecraft in a review, came into contact with Derleth who encouraged him to do better. And he published the book. A lot of contemporary reviews claim that this is a boring novel and as an SF novel - set in 1994 - mostly nonsense. But this didn't hinder the novel to be sold worldwide.
I like the Panther cover. Some thought went into this, never a bad thing.
