Philip Nutman - Wet Work (Jove Books, 1993, 262 pages) Philip Nutman (1963-2013) belonged to the Splatterpunk movement - if you want to call it like that - and wrote this one novel. It got him on the list as a Stoker nominee, which in this year had strong entries, even in the First Novel category. He wrote a lot of articles for Fangoria magazin and worked in the movies. This novel is based on his short-story in Skipp and Spectors Book of the Dead. The blurb surely belongs in the top 10 of ludicrous hype.
