Guy N. Smith - Sabat 4: The Druid Connection (NEL, 1983, 148 pages) The last Sabat novel for the next 35 years. Sabat has returned in the novels Wistman's Wood in 2018 and The Return in 2019. Wistman's Wood is unavailable for the time being. Chances are that Sabat as a series had outstayed its welcome in terms of sales in the mid-eighties. NEL continued to publish Smith, his last one at NEL was Crabs - The Human Sacrifice in 1988. But the short genre novel was on its way to oblivion, in the age of video the days of million of sales were over. For instance in 1985 all the violent western series except Edge and Steele were cancelled.
If memory serves right, Sabat 4 was much more restrained than its predecessors, and the once quite outrageous concept had become a bit stale.

Nice cover. I can't help laughing at the title Crabs: The Human Sacrifice.
