This is a new edition of the movie The Wicker Man from German label Birnenblatt Home Video, the first German dubbed version. The three discs feature the Final Cut, the Director's Cut & the Movie Cut and the Soundtrack. (Only Final Cut is region-free.) There are of course some extras, among others interviews with film critics and horror movie directors about the impact of the movie, an (old) interview with director Hardy and a featurette by well-known media academic Dr. Marcus Stiglegger. As is often the case with those editions, there are some movie stills and a nice booklet included. The picture quality is well done and looks sharp. As far as I read it up, this Final Cut is a hybrid of the Director' s Cut and the Movie Version, mostly it changes the position of some scenes. The focus of the edition is much more on the the movie itself, no essays about Folkhorror. The package is nice and everything is well done. The fotos of the Wicker Man in reality look impressive, and the reproduction of the foto of the supposed missing girl our doomed hero shows around is an inspired idea.
