One of the last anthologies with prefaces by Robert Weinberg. I read a few stories from it, and I think that at least it's more entertaining than "Russian Gothic". I hope someone will be interested

What a coincidence, I just came across these on Am*z*n the other day & thought "Wow, I must get these (some time)" They look excellent; fine classic authors as well as newer ones.

It's great that you found them attractive too. I was most intrigued by Hirai Teiichi's "Midnight Encounters" from the second volume. He was a translator of "Dracula" into Japanese. Here's the Japanese edition of "Midnight Encounters":

Why is Edogawa Rampo not represented in these volumes? I realize there is already some Rampo available in English, but still.
