I've just heard Guy has left us - no details yet. A decent chap, and his tales were enjoyed by many.

Crabs, arise and end this planet once and for all. It's what Guy would have wanted.

I don't know what to say. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Regardless how you rate his work, he was one of the great writers of the British horror novel.

Very sad to read today of Guy's passing after such a diabolical year.
Clickety Click and goodnight mr Smith.

So sad to hear of Guy's passing. One of the pulp horror greats. His books were always entertaining. I never met him, but e-mailed him once about 18 years ago to say how much I had enjoyed his Sabat collection Dead Meat, and got a very nice reply almost immediately. Always seemed a thoroughly decent chap in his interviews and writings. RIP.

Rest In Peace.
All respect to a daring artist.
With a desire to try several different writers as I grow older, but with limited time for reading, I have selected three books by Guy N. Smith: Night of the Crabs, Killer Crabs, and The Festering. I hope they may represent his writing at its most typical and outrageously horrifying. I have peeped into Killer Crabs, and I like his descriptive prose.

I have not as yet read The Festering, but the two Crabs titles you have chosen are pretty decent imo. Hope you have a good time with all three.

One wonders whether his estate will license Crabs sequels from other novelists?

Great story. I hope those crabs can survive. I think there might be a horror story somewhere about the crabs on Xmas Island. The photos are amazing and I can see how a lot of people would be very freaked out confronted by the spectacle of such an enormous horde of tiny red crabs--shades of "Leiningen vs the Ants"!
cheers, Hel.
