Tom Mason (ed.) - Spicy Western Stories (Malibu, 1990) "Eight Classic Tales of a Wild, Wild West where Men are Men and Women are Nuthin' but Scantily-clad Trouble!"John Wooley - Introduction: Hot In The Saddle
Tim Carey - Hermit Of Hell's Hump E. Hoffman Price - Forbidden Food William G. Bogart -Trouble Rides Hard Rex Norman - Six Gun Rendezvous Laurence Donovan - The Bull Had Blue Horns Edwin Truett - The Moving Finger Laurence Donovan - Pinch-Penny, Bulldogger Max Neilson - Hell On Wheels Eight selections from Spicy Mystery Stories from 1938 through to 1942 and disappointingly tame in comparison to the epic sex and violence of the Spicy Horror & Mystery selections. Cattle-rustling, double-crossing varmints, cat-fightin' gals and regular shoot-outs among the prospectors, but that's about your lot. They read like a series of B-Westerns that were too awful to be made. Highly recommended!

There is a link earlier in this section, but this seems like a good time to give another mention to the brilliant Pulpgen Online Pulps site. Loads of downloadable pdf files of stories from all manner of weird and spicy pulps, including some Spicy Westerns such as Peter Grant's Whipped from November 1936. There's really something for just about everybody; weird menace, war, mystery, romance, sport... the list of titles offers seemingly endless treats... Satan Drives the Bus, Mistress of Snarling Death, What Ball Players Do After Dark, Fetch Me Brannon's Ears, The Thing That Dined On Death, The Pain Master's Bride, Crutch Brigade, Midget Mayhem, Gorilla Girl, Fokker Fodder, Death Mates for the Lust-Lost, Black Pool for Hell Maidens, Clown of Doom, Baldy and the Strip-Tease Murder, Girl on the Torture Wheel, Trigger Mortis, Abra Cadaver!... The Nudist Gym Death Riddle... and more spicy classics such as Blood-Bait for Hungry Mermaids and Bruno Fischer's Fresh Fiances For the Devil's Daughter. Many great pulp names are included; E. Hoffmann Price, Robert Leslie Bellem, Michael Avallone, Sax Rohmer, Norvell "The Spider" Page, Johnston "Zorro" McCulley, Arch "Lights Out" Oboler, as well as the 'Professor Forrester' stories of Seabury Quinn. Good stuff.
