Just received a mail to say that Warren 'The Destroyer' Murphy recently passed away. Only wrote one horror book that I am aware of (sent Dem a scan to use in the 'hands' thread) but as he was a one-man fiction factory, still thought it would be noteworthy for Vaulters. I believe the pod fanzine Exploitation Retrospect is publishing a Murphy special in the next few months.

Very sorry to hear that. I remember Mr. Murphy proved a brilliant interviewee in PF 15, sharing many a laugh-out-loud funny anecdote about the sorry lot of a proper old school pulphack. Will add that Destiny's Carnival scan when next Hands batch goes up. R.I.P.

Terrible year. How many more? I loved many of his novels. Recently I re-read the first two of his Trace novels. I laughed a lot, then I thought how much they would irk the PC crowd, then they were even a better read. I am not a fan of comedy crime or thrillers, but Murphy could do this seemingly effortless.
R.I.P.
