Hello all! Thanks for the support and encouragement from many of you for our reprints of neglected horror. I wanted to let everyone know about a few more that will be out from Valancourt Books in 2014:
Basil Copper - The House of the Wolf R. Chetwynd-Hayes - Looking for Something to Suck and other Vampire Stories (edited by Stephen Jones) John Blackburn - Children of the Night, A Ring of Roses, Our Lady of Pain, Devil Daddy Alex Hamilton - Beam of Malice Gerald Kersh - Neither Man Nor Dog, The Great Wash, Clock Without Hands, On an Odd Note Michael Talbot - The Delicate Dependency Archie Roy - Devil in the Darkness, The Curtained Sleep Michael McDowell - The Elementals James Kennaway - The Mind Benders
If anyone has recommendations for good ones we've missed, please let me know.
Thanks!

Very well done to you! Particularly pleased to see the Archie Roy and John Blackburn titles back in print, in the latter's case, especially his Elizabeth Bathory novel, and the RCH compilation is a splendid career-spanning selection. Also Talbot's The Delicate Dependency, from the decade when the vampire theme still held excitement. Suggestions? Off the top of my head, other than the obvious more Charles Birkin, you might like to look at a Thomas Burke macabre collection, or a reprint of Dino Buzzati's Catastrophe?
Great respect to you - you are playing a blinder.

We'd like to do one of the Thomas Burke collections ( Night Pieces) but we haven't looked any further into it yet other than wanting to do it. I'm not familiar with Catastrophe so I'll have to get my claws on a copy of it. There's one about an hour away at the university so I'll check it out next month when I go. Thanks for the recs!

You are very welcome. It's heartening to see so many neglected authors returned to print. A Charles Birkin collection with introduction courtesy of a true and much loved Vault vet was something I never expected to exist outside of my most depraved fantasies. How have the Archie Roy pair been received?

The Archie Roy titles are still pending. Unfortunately he passed away around the time we were getting contracts ready. His family is still in the processes of sorting out the estate. We'll get them at some point, we're just in the "waiting" phase right now.
We were pretty bummed that he's longer here to see his books brought back into print. That's always the best part of the experience for us!

Rest in peace, Mr. Roy. The Guardian pays tribute: Obituary
