I was really delighted when the first Pan Book of Horror Stories was reissued a few years ago. However, since then, there have been no more, and I am really disappointed about this.
Does anybody know if Johnny Mains - or anybody else - has plans to reissue more Pan Books of Horror? I hope he does, because I am a lifelong fan of these classic books and want so much to replenish the collection I lost many years ago.

I think dedicated scouring through second hand bookstores is the best bet. I find one or two titles every few months here in India, I'm assuming it would be easier in the UK?

I'm assuming it would be easier in the UK? It seems to depend which part of the UK you live, Jaya. The later ones edited by Clarence Paget (26-30) are thin on the ground and have been known to change hands at laughably inflated prices, but we had one of our W. Midlands-based contributors collected the lot in a few months without too much trouble and no massive expenditure. Good luck with hunting them down in the 2nd hand book-stores.

As Dem says the later ones are the toughies but check here: www.abebooks.com/servlet/SearchResults?an=thal&bi=0&bx=off&ds=30&kn=pan+horror&pn=Pan&recentlyadded=all&sortby=17&sts=t&x=61&y=16Seems to be a fair few at knock down prices

The Paget ones are the hardest to find here, too.

The Paget ones are the hardest to find here, too. I've decided to sell some of my Pan Horror collection. I'd love to give them away but I'm afraid I just can't afford it. I'll put what i have in the swaps list

Why have there been no more re-releases of further volumes of the Pan Books of Horror? Truegho www.wirralwriter.co.uk

Pan didn't want to do any more. As simple as that, really.
