ELizabeth Taylor is dead. Off the top of my head I can only think of her appearing in Doctor Faustus as a specific horror movie. Wasn't there some thing about ants or crabs? I fell quite shattered by this as I thought she would live forever. The thing about the death of someone so iconic is that it reminds you of your own mortality and perhaps more cogently that there will come a time when you won't want to be alive because there will be no one left who represents your milieu. I remember her appearance on Parkinson many years ago. There was a sense of a living goddess descending to earth. Then, she beguiled the audience by asking questions of the crowd which at the time was a very rare if not unique thing. She came across as one of those natural people who would be at home in any company and she was very, very beautiful. RIP
