After a year or two of interested reading I finally gave up lurking and created an account here, prompted by the discussion of Prism, admittedly, but I hope to stay and contribute.
I'm more interested in the occasional science fiction/fantasy books you discuss than the horror ones, but I read those threads too. I grew up on cheap secondhand paperbacks, reading anything I could buy with my 20p pocket money. I'm a subscriber to The Paperback Fanatic, I'm the admin of the BFAs and I review lots of books on my blog.

Welcome. I like Horror SF and Fantasy but find I have to qualify the fantasy statement more and more. In fact, on reflection I could reduce it to I like Eddison, David Lindsay, Tolkein, RE Howard and a few others and mostly dislike fantasy.

I'm not the biggest fan of fantasy myself, which is an odd thing for a recent chair of the BFS to say... I've enjoyed some recent stuff by Joe Abercrombie, Steven Erikson and Kari Sperring though.
I meant to say more science fiction/science fantasy. I'm reluctant to say I'm a huge science fiction fan, because I don't care too much about the science these days. I tend to like the stuff along the edges - sf/horror, sf/fantasy, that kind of thing.
