Can someone explain why Zombies don't eat each other, when they are shot they bleed so it would appear that they could.....but they don't......

depends on your zombie -
First wave zombies would definitely bleed but they weren't cannibals I think - just comatose voodooed folks who'd been buried for a bit 2nd wave as far as I know were dead so would not bleed as dead bodies don't bleed therefore might lack that fresh off the shelf appeal..
Nowadays I have lost track of what a zombie is or does.

I think it's because once you're infected, the best bit (brainssss, obviously) starts to degenerate immediately, so you are no longer worth eating. Zombies may or may not be able to tell other zombies regardless of behaviour, opinions differ, but I think they can smell a rotting brain and want nothing to do with it.

I agree - new wave zombies must be able to tell the living from the dead, and the idea that they could be fooled by living people just shuffling about and moaning makes no sense (if it did, then half the people I see on the way to work would be perfectly safe)... it's gotta be a smell thing (or at least something that's picked up by the chemical senses - I suspect Jacobson's organ might be involved).
LATER AFTERTHOUGHT - can I copyright that bit about Jacobson's organ?

The comic, The Walking Dead deals with this a bit, a couple of characters walk through a crowd of zombies, by spreading putrefaction from a corpse on themselves, before going near the city. It works, until the rain washes it off, at which point the zombies realise there are living amongst their ranks.
There appears to be no fiction - film, tv or books/comics - where the zombies attack each other. If anyone knows differently, let me know, I like the idea.

Too late on the Jacobson's organ, got used in Mac Montandon's The Proper Care and Feeding of Zombies.
