T. E. D. Klein - The Ceremonies (The Viking Press, 1984, Hc, 505 pages; this edition Bantam Books, 1985, 555 pages) Cover by Jim Burns This edition has a nice inside cover which unfortunatly I can´t scan without ruining the book. Even after all this years this is still a seminal work. (Edited thoroughly for a multitide of reason, not the least because it fell victim to the ph*t*bu*ker massacre)

I though this an excellent novel and I prefer it to Poroth Farm (the earlier novella verison of the story). Perhaps this is partly because I read the novel first. Not to say that poroth isn't very fine, but in the novel I really enjoyed the main character (Klein seesm to have so much fun with him writing up his thesis on weird fiction) and the interaction with the couple he lodges with.
This is a novel I must dig out and reread someday.

As written above I edited the post. In most cases I just edit posts which became a victim of f**kbucket without bumping the thread. But got a new scan and a re-write because it kind of deserves it.
The short-story The Events at Poroth Farm published in 1972 can be found here.
