A very early work from Smith, this one. It's a quick read, at just over 100 pages long and I got through it in 2 sittings.
The premise is that of a young woman whose gypsy uncle dies in strange circumstances. While sorting through his things, she discovers a book of magic practices and learns of the titular Sucking Pit. This is a bog that the gypsies use to dispose of their dead - and it's not long before madness, mayhem and murder ensues.
Guy writes at a furious pace and there's no room for boredom, the action is fast and furious. Lots of blood, violence and unbridled sex. Typical Smith, really - but I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless.

First Smith novel I read and I couldn't believe it. Genuinely LOLed at many points. Much gratuitous stuff, like the bit where (SPOILER?) she cuts the black feller's wiener off. Bloody bonkers book, very inspiring.
The Walking Dead isn't as funny but it's also a winner.
