Centurion, 1975 Cheating here, as I'm sure this is an American author. Picked this up on a whim as it looked more hard-boiled than the JT Edson sort of stuff...and boy, did I get a result! Obviously post-Edge, Brannigan is mean and psychotic as all hell. Very snappy writing, a real pulp master-class...this book is outrageously violent. A real eye-opener. Can't find out a damned thing about author or series. Anyone? These books are rarer than a fat smackhead, it seems... More scans coming as and when...and maybe very truncated reviews if i get time...

You're correct in thinking it's an American book. This Brannigan series was originally published by Leisure books. As far as I know Tom Ryan is the author's real name. There's three books altogether:
#1. Brannigan - 1974 #2. The Man from Funace Creek - 1975 #3. Mark of the Rattler - 1975
Don't get the above series mixed up with another Brannigan series that came out later, published by Zebra, as by Ed Newsom. The titles for this series are:
#1. Brannigan - 1980 #2. Comanchero Chase - 1981 #3. Blood Bullets - 1981 #4. The Peacekeeper - 1983
