As far as I've been able to establish, Weird Tales, which had provided the bulk of Christine Campbell Thomson's material, was responsible for the first publication of just one of the stories that was to feature in Creeps. Although H. R. Wakefield made six appearances in "the unique magazine" - including the wonderful Ghost Hunt (March 1948) and Out Of The Wrack I Rise (Nov. 1949) - this was long after the series had folded and, the solitary bona fide Creep-to-be was Elliott O'Donnell's The Ghost-Table,("An exciting tale of occult phenomena - a rampant beast, lusting to kill ...."), the cover story for the Feb. 1928 issue, which would later resurface four years later in Birkin's first volume.
