Well, thankyou for that, it was super, I suppose the rest of you are still polishing your lenses or something? I am really hoping for a big broadcast, live from Probert Towers... come on John, or I'll tell them about the traffic cone and the Bishop...

I didn't know I'd told you that story Coral! I actually employed the top part of a traffic cone I could dress up as a cardinal.

Another video from Mark Samuels! This time, a news round up (all very interesting stuff including news of his Glyphotech collection from PS and a tiny but tasty teaser for A Gentleman from Mexico in the forthcoming Mammoth Best New Horror # 19) although this time our friend fore-go's the pleasures of Pond Square and it's infamous phantom chicken. Watch it at: May 5th 2008

Urgh. What a horrible mug. It's like one of Pan Horror photographic covers of a homicidal maniac. Someone take it down Funnily enough, I was working on the You-Tube video for "A Gentleman from Mexico" tonight. It's almost completed (but I haven't done the voice-over reading yet). Anyway, it should be posted fairly soon. Probably this weekend. Mark S.

Is that really a picture of MFS? He used to be quite a good looking young man.

Mark S. I won't comment on Redbrain's comment. But I never had the benefit of being good-looking at any time in my life.

Well, my ugly old mug doesn't feature in my latest You-Tube extravaganza, but HP Lovecraft does...and scenes from Mexico City bookshops and cafes...and unclothed young ladies. (well, maybe not unclothed young ladies.) www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2J4L8UyuWwWatch and listen, if you dare ;D Mark S.

Mark S. I thought I was being quite nice. Men good looking young - or otherwise - are not really my thing. It was a compliment to the MFS who used to be. Wasn't it?

.... You are, in fact, sitting across the table from a certifiable lunatic ...
Super teaser. Well done, Mark!
You wanted to know if your readers preferred the video updates and snippets to html? For what it's worth, I think there's plenty of room for both, but I hope you'll continue with the YouTube stuff - gives it an entirely new dimension and good fun, too.

I'm delighted to report that Mark has been up to more of his YouTube mischief, Update_14_June_2008, this time sharing his thoughts on Virgin Books, paying particular attention to Ramsey Campbell's Grin In The Dark (mini review) and Thomas Ligotti's soon come My Work Is Not Yet Done. Also news on the interviews he's given to The Southern Literary Messenger (yes, that one: they've revived it online!) and Midnight Street plus update on his forthcoming collection Glyphotech. There's something really delightful about these broadcasts and hopefully some more of you will be inspired to take the plunge and we can have a Vault channel!

I'm conscious this might look like thread hijacking, but it doesn't seem worth starting a new thread for, plus there are similar posts earlier in the thread, so, blah, etc. I'll understand if you decide to move or delete this post. No problem. Thought some of you might like this - www.archive.org/download/WrittenbyEdDempster_narratedbyJonEastwoodandMattWycliffeRevolution/RevolutionROUGH.mp3One of the talented folks over at Doom turns out to be an actor, and he and a friend offered to narrate a few of our stories for us. This is just a rough first reading of one of my old stories. It's more humour than horror, but I thought you might enjoy it.

Mark, "the contemporary British master of visionary weirdness" (Ramsey Campbell) is up to yet more YouTube mischief! News of Glyphotech, an interview in Midnight Street, details of the Mammoth Best New Horror 19, and the Velvet's banana album playing in the background! Also exclusive: Mark tells us why he thinks he's figured how comes he only grows a beard when he's in Mexico. Watch it here

Not sure who else has read the novel WITCH-CULT ABBEY by Mark Samuels?
I am coming towards the end of my real-time review with the slowth of Zeno’s Paradox! … And with a sort of end-of-life madness.
About Saul’s own battle with the so-called witch cult he sees as against him. Is Saul short for Samuels?
