Have you watched Eegah? You might like that one. Also, if you've not yet had the ... pleasure, The Wild Women of Wongo and Woman-Eater. Should you fancy a musical, there's Gonks Go Beat ... I haven't had the pleasure of any of these. However last night I almost watched Teenage Caveman. But didn't in the end. It stars a man from The Man from Uncle who was amazingly in Coronation Street as well. Not that I know anything about both of these. I wonder if he encounters dinosaurs (Teenage Caveman not Coronation Street, though it does have Ken Barlow in it (not my joke again)). After all the world is only 6000 years old and man and dinosaur lived peacefully together in the garden of Eden. I saw that in a picture book with basic text given out by Jehovah's Witnesses, so it must be right. In the old days people would pretend not to be in if they knocked, now we just tell them to get lost, which kind of proves that evolution works. Being a Viking woman I'm allowed to say these things, as we are tough and speak our mind, coming as we do from the edge of the world (which as we know, is flat). Viking Women is not really up to much, but the ladies themselves are quite nice. Kind of the reverse of those movies from the 30s/40s where explorers discover a race of women without men. Agree about Plan Nine. I've seen far worse. For me, a bad movie is one that doesn't entertain me. Plan Nine always entertains me. The worst movie I ever saw was Titanic. It just bored me to tears. I thought A Night to Remember was so much better.

I want to put in a word for the 'Hastings Mystery Theater' channel on YT. The channel specialises in mystery films from the 1930s and 1940s. There's usually a short introduction telling the viewer a little about the film and stars. There are quite a lot of films in series such as Boston Blackie, The Falcon, The Saint, Whistler, Roving Reporters and so forth. There are several Torchy Blane's, which I have been wanting to see for a long time. So, if you are interested in old B movie mysteries check it out.

In December I watched The Flying Serpent (1946). It was a very poor B-movie with a plot reminiscent of The Devil Bat, and was a waste of George Zucco's talents. Has anyone seen the "remake" Q ā The Winged Serpent (Q) from 1982?

Has anyone seen the "remake" Q ā The Winged Serpent (Q) from 1982? Yes, seem to remember quite enjoying it. If you like your sci-horrors trashy and you've not already done so, you might like to give The Incredible Melting Man a try.

About to start my George Zucco B-movie binge. First up tonight is Fog Island, described as mystery-suspense, from 1945. Chosen at random from an extensive back catalogue. From a stage play. It's short if anyone wants to give it a try. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLH43AlJtfI

Bad Taste from 1987. Directed by Peter Jackson and he also stars. Set in New Zealand, a team is sent to a small town to discover why everyone has disappeared. They find that aliens have taken it over, aliens who enjoy the taste of humans. Jackson's first film, and it is a lot of fun imo. It's very gory and a bit gross at times, but also pretty funny. The agents are from the Astro Investigation and Defence Service--guess what their acronym is and remember the film was made in 1987. Actually it took 4 years of part-time shooting to complete. If you don't mind some gore and grossness--'Aren't I lucky, I got a chunky bit'--then it's very entertaining. Coming late to this one. An appropriately titled film that's well worth a watch. Apparently the budget was so low that they could only shoot it in their time off from their day jobs; this meant weekends only, so it took four years to make. The alien face masks were made by Peter Jackson's mother - she baked them in her oven. With gallons of laughably absurd gore and some truly tasteless moments, but all very tongue in cheek and really funny at times. Features a sheep being detonated by a rocket propelled grenade. Think of it as everyday life in New Zealand...

Has anyone seen the "remake" Q ā The Winged Serpent (Q) from 1982? The last time I saw Q would have been when it was featured on BBC2's Moviedrome with Alex Cox sometime in the 90s. It's an odd film imo, a throwback to the sci-fi films of the 50s with some added gore.
