That's very good news, Johnny. I can't help being intrigued by Dr Shrink Proof's observation:
I suspect that having your heart stopped might have been the source of the "our next stop is the end of the line, where we terminate this service" effect. I've encountered folk who experienced it during non-drug-induced asystole.
In my mind I can hear Rod Serling (or perhaps Valentine Dyall, given recent viewing) uttering the words about the next stop being the end of the line. I wonder who "Zennials" who've never seen anything with Rod Serling would hear. Maybe a line from one of the rap-like excrescences I've heard are what passes for current pop music.
Onwards! Hel.

When the drugs kicked in, everything stops. It's like the end of the world. I imagine it's what the moment before the moment of death feels like. I'm having a lot of trouble getting my head around it, to be honest.

The fact that it's not out yet probably explains why I couldn't find it on bookshop shelves. I'll pick it up online when it's out.

I’m sure the contents will match or exceed the wonderful cover.

Forgot to say well done Johnny. It's nice to see that it isn't all just out of copyright work. Neil Gunn is a major figure in Scottish fiction.

Ah, thank you - yeah, Mr Gunn was someone who I always got excited at whenever I found one of his books in a bookshop.

Well, here's the finished article. Best book I've ever been involved with, I think.

Well, good news is that I'm alive enough to do another hardback for the BL that's coming out later on this year - and that will hopefully have quite a bit of Pan, Fontana and other fan favourites in it - and am also making my entry into the tales of the weird series by editing a book of stories by a great female author. More news as and when.
