A belated thanks for these, Anna. Sadly none of the Harrow School books I've browsed even touch upon the subject(s) I'm interested in, likewise the books/ booklets on the church. Treading in the fearless footsteps of We Vlog Ghosts and Burton Stormcock, I'm planning a return visit to St. Mary's Churchyard, etc., sometime next month. Always an adventure, even if many of my most loved haunts have since been murdered.

Beautiful scene--from a postcard? The White Devil was quite a ride. A couple nights ago I finished watching the 1965 Italian film Five Graves for a Medium, better known under the silly but florid release title Terror Creatures from the Grave--like Bava's 1966 film Kill Baby Kill and the novel The White Devil, it was about the mayhem that results when a vindictive spirit returns to wreak revenge.
Hope you enjoy your visit to Harrow, but watch out for flying vegetables and flinging dead animal tissue as the food fights are the stuff of legend, or so one has heard.
Hel.

Beautiful scene--from a postcard? Yeah, another from last autumn's ephemera fair.

They are nice. Maybe next time you are there you can take photos of the same view (badly obviously), so we can get a then and now idea. Should have acted on the above on previous visit. Was back there yesterday, and the seats have been replaced with two ugly if durable metal benches. The stonework behind also removed, no idea if it is to be replaced (nobody about; had the churchyard to myself again). The Spire now scaffolded top to bottom and concealed behind a green tarpaulin, so not looking its best just now. Full marks to the Doll's House on the Hill for a charming Halloween window display.

Full marks to the Doll's House on the Hill for a charming Halloween window display. This looks like a nice cafe. 'The Doll's House on the Hill'. Sounds like something out of a Neil Gaiman comic.
