Marvelous news, Johnny! Congratulations!
A friend posted a story about a Ukrainian grandma taking out a Russian drone using a deftly wielded can of cucumbers. Of course my first thought was "You go, girl! But I hope that wasn't your last can of pickles!"
cheers, Hel

That's a great achievement, and nice to think you've certainly saved a few lives.

It's heart-warming to hear so much was raised; kudos to all concerned.

Well done Johnny! A magnificent achievement, not just in itself but as a spark of light in very dark times.
Respect.

In a similar vein comes "206 Word Stories" from Bag of Bones Press. An anthology of 206 horror stories, all 206 words long (One per bone – there are 206 bones in the human body. I know, I learned them all at Medical School…). Buy it. Not because my story “Cold Caller” is one of the 206, but because all sale profits go to children’s charities, split 50/50 between charities in Britain and Ukraine. Here's the link.UPDATE - It's cleared £1,000 profit, most likely to be split between NSPCC in Britain and Red Cross in Ukraine.

In the end £500 went to the British Red Cross and £500 to Unicef to help British and Ukrainian children.
Not much in the great scheme of things, but better to light a candle than listen to some politician preaching to us about coping with darkness.

Great news, and I couldn't agree more with your last statement.
