Hi God, nice of you to keep an eye on us. Is this the mag that eventually mutated into New Witchcraft circa 1973/ 4 before giving up the ghost? I had no idea there were 24 issues (and, sorry, no, I don't have any of them; never even seen one). Good luck with tracking down a full set.

God, are you related to Marianne Faithfull? She looked just like you on Ab Fab.
Those mags look juicy. I see the occasional cover posted on social media... I had the impression it was mainly soft-core explo with some flavorings of occult herbs and seasonings.

God, are you related to Marianne Faithfull? It is my understanding that God is related to everybody.

There's some more comment about Witchcraft on our World of Horror. Was Brian Netscher the editor of Witchcraft? If so, the running order seems to be Witchcraft, then four issues as New Witchcraft, and finally a one-off (if it ever appeared?) as Psychic Eye (with a sister publication, Mystic running concurrent with New Witchcraft ?).

This god probably belongs to a pantheon, but I've no idea which, and the picture doesn't give much of a clue.

god, James Doig who provided some of those images on "Flickr" is, for this Vault resident at least, a legend. And also extraordinarily skillful and generous with scans, which I for one appreciate very much. If you haven't perused this arena, you should trawl through some of these threads. Also, look for the longish thread on vampire zines with contributions from dem bones and others. Juicy. vaultofevil.proboards.com/board/41/saucy-spicy-dreadfulcheers, Hel

I can make out the initials JGM. The signature looks like 'J.G. Mitchell' to me. To judge from the covers it's certainly a must-have magazine, but looks like it's much scarcer than World of Horror, which is pretty common here in Aus. I guess it was read to bits by horny school kids.

Lovely, James! And what a cool title from David Riley: "The Shade of Apollyon." Goetic horror! Rawk!

Many thanks for sharing the gallery, god. Fascinating publication. I think Witchcraft would have coincided with NEL's infamous Hells Angel mag, a playground favourite of certain Paperback Fanatics.

New Witchcraft 4 (the final issue) includes ads for both World of Horror and back numbers of Witchcraft ( this one). Covers of NW 2, 3 & 4 on Galactic Central

I wonder if Mystic or Psychic Eye ever became real magazines. Besides the ads in WoH and New Witchcraft, I have yet to see an image from either title. That Mystic ad is still so strange to me, though. Considering the slogan and photo collage, maybe the ad is just referring to Witchcraft, not a separate magazine. Could be too - Witchcraft and New Witchcraft are in the British Library catalogue, but Mystic isn't from what I can see.

I made an incomplete list of the issues: Most of the photos are from old internet auctions. The cover of No. 4 still would make a great poster or mousepad. I fear the stories would be terrible, but at least they knew how to make a title. Whitches on wheels, Kangaroo Men of Australia, The Butcher of Rheinbach, When the Hyenas ceased to scavenge. Maybe not the class of good old Dennis, but still ... Did they had interior illustrations like the American Men's Mags?
