Here we post a picture, it could be a still from a film, a photograph, a magazine cover, a place, or a painting. Whatever we can think of. We then say what it came from and how it influenced things. Maybe we discuss the actor's in the film, or the artist or writer. Or how the period it was created in shaped how it came about. Whatever we think of linked to it in some way. We could say what it went on to influence in the future.

Here is the first. Who can name it? Les Vampires from 1915, except, from what I've read (not seen it), Lady Leotard is no vampire but a criminal with a keen sense of theatre?

Here is a new one. That's The Asphyx (1972) with Robert Stephens (just above), whom I once met as mentioned elsewhere in the Vault. That's Robert Powell just above on the right looking at the other Robert's Asphyx! It certainly looks like it needs to be phyxed.

Cracking good film! I have to confess I often cringe when Telly Savalas shows up (such as in this incoherent Bava film where he played the Devil walking around some ruined palazzo sucking on a lollipop), but I thought he was well used and well directed here. Savalas only appears in the final 20 minutes or so of the movie, if i recall aright.

It's the infamous From Hell It Came, to which a witty copy-editor in the TV movie column of a large New York newspaper once responded, "Back send it." You're looking at a vengeful spirit known as a Tabanga, who evidently from time to time was seized with an amorous mood. Another in your repertory of "fiends" and "beasts."
