Still one of my favorites. Richard Dalby, Hugh Lamb, Michel Parry and Peter Haining all reprinted stories from this volume in their various anthologies. Mr Happy

I noticed that animated art objects is recurring theme of Spence.

GORGEOUS cover--thanks, Middoth! I think Lewis Spence was also involved in occult circles in the 1930s-1940s... must investigate! Maybe someday I'll get to read those stories. Edit: Here's an interesting article about him: philipcarr-gomm.com/essay/lewis-spence/cheers, Hel

"The Carpet with a Hundred Eyes" sounds like a carpet with a peacock pattern, to me.
Some of Spence's books might be available on "archive dot org," but I haven't checked. I do not know about editions in Portuguese translation.
cheers, Hel

I finally met it, on different sites on the web it is now available to download, I have a month to entertain myself to translate it into my language, I spend five hours a day translating stories from English to Spanish, I hope more stories and difficult books continue to appear, many greetings
